Since 2002, I have served as the founding Executive Director LINC Houston and President/CEO of LINC International, a multi-ethnic urban mission organization. Before that, I was a business owner and missionary pastor on the east side of Houston in a Hispanic neighborhood.
I exist to be out of culture and I prefer diversity. Maybe it comes from being in such a large family, maybe it comes from the values that my parents instilled in me and maybe it's just because that how I was created.
I thrive on chaos and am a contrarian by nature, preferring to simultaneously accept seemingly contradicting truths than to believe I have everything exactly figured out. I also enjoy challenging people's closely held viewpoints, if only for the purpose of making them think.
I am a mountain biker, surfer, ultra runner and Ironman triathlete.
In life, I have (among other things) been a waiter, a scaffold builder, a carpenter, a business owner, a worship leader, a community organizer, a music producer, a pastor and a non-profit executive. I love a challenge and, to my fault, almost never back down from one. I would like to believe that I'm a pioneer, but really I'm just following in the footsteps of so many that have come before me in the faith. My heroes are the persecuted believers around the world and throughout the centuries that risk their lives for the sake of the Gospel. If I could only be allowed to visit them in Heaven I would consider it a privilege and an honor.
Life Goal: Introduce lots of people to Jesus.
